One hot summer day.

La Pinay

Adam and Eve

La Pinay with caramel drizzle

Deb and Isella :)

Francine . Deb . Isella

Isella, our high school best friend, took a leave from work and visited Francine and me. :) we never saw each other again since we graduated high school because their family moved to Laguna already. and now, here we are again, after SIX long years. :) but as if nothing changed. haha. we look the same, i think. but we're more mature now than before. when our conversation revolves around hair, clothes, and boys. this time, it's different. :) we talked about the good old times. asked about some of our batch mates, which some have their own families already. i can't believe how fast time flies. each of us graduated college already and works now. it's really nice to take time and meet once in awhile. :)

crepes and friends are a perfect way to escape the summer heat. :)

Jen's Graduation

Happy happy graduation buddy!! :-)

my best friend Jen graduated last March 29, 2010. yes, this is a late post. better late than never. ;) im so proud and happy for her. :) though i wasn't able to attend the event at UST, im able to join their family for her graduation dinner at Mom and Tina's. :) i love the place - the food, the ambiance, the company. this place just brings back memories, and makes me nostalgic. :) this is one place that i'll always be happy to go back to. :)

Sidewalk Cafe

Sidewalk Cafe

Alda and i had dinner together today. :) we met up after work. and tried the newly opened Sidewalk Cafe somewhere near our place. i think it's been less than two months since they opened. like all cafes around here, they also offer other goodies aside from drinks.

this is what we tried -

Hickory Spareribs

Korean Beef

the beef is tender, which is good. and flavorful too. :) but the serving size is not enough for one. way too few slices of beef for me. meanwhile the spareribs is yummy too. and bigger than the beef. :) so far so good.

we talked and talked over dinner. :) and while i was in the washroom, Alda paid our bill!! i was supposed to treat her, but she paid our bill already. smart girl. haha! it's my turn next time. thanks Alda! :) she also gave me a top which she got for me during her Thailand trip. yes, she's sweeeeet and thoughtful like that. :)

im posting separate pictures of us because the one where we are together is blur. :( i didn't noticed it while we were there, just now when i transferred the pictures here in my computer. so here we are, happy as always. :) after dinner, she met with her boyfriend Renz, and watched his basketball game tonight. :)

*wrong white balance for the pictures. sorry for that. ;)

P.S. why are some pictures here so grainy? but if you click it, it's not grainy anymore. can somebody help me with this? is blogger shrinking it? or is it just my browser?

Up!

my classmate James came over to my house today to bring the Coffee Jelly Mousse i ordered from him. :) we were supposed to meet somewhere else, but because of the pile of work i still have to do, he was kind enough to come. :) we talked about how we really miss school.. and our other classmates of course. like who has work already, and where they are working. he recently resigned from McDo. and is now finding a new job. i told him to work in a bakery company since he's really good at baking. :)

the coffee jelly is yummy! Grace ordered one too. ;) James also makes yummy Blueberry Cheesecake! :)

somewhere in between, D and i found time to watch the much awaited UP this afternoon. :) i really love it! in one particularly insightful little scene, one of the characters says, “Sometimes, it’s the boring stuff I remember the most.” it’s a sentiment that easily explains the appeal of this film. it’s not the high adventure wackiness that will ultimately make this film stand out. it’s the poignant little moments where we watch the characters deal with life and loss and friendship and dreams, all the familiar little things that are already present in our own lives.

just took this shot from our window. the clouds never fail to amaze me.. the shapes, the colors. ;)

Wicked Kitchen

this weekend, D and i, along with my little brother went to Wicked Kitchen and tried their food. i saw it being featured in a website last week and it just made me curious. the place is not that big, and is not for big groups of people.

Broccoli and Cheese Chowder. a rich blend of fresh broccoli and cheddar. served with crunchy parmesan croutons. im a big fan of cream soups. : ) this soup is indeed very cheesy and creamy. but comforting nonetheless.

Firestarters. crunchy rolls of green chili, grilled chicken, and melted cheese. fried to a crisp, served with tomato salsa. we loved this! : ) expect moderate hotness because of the green chilies. one serving has a good five rolls.

Mongolian Rice. chicken, squid, and fresh vegetables tossed in special mongolian sauce. D ordered this. i tried it too, and i think the sauce made it tastier. : )

Sisig Rice. spicy sisig topped over rice and served with egg. oh, this dish has nothing special. just plain and ordinary.

Fish and Chips. beer-battered sole fillets served with aioli, and thick-cut fries. this may look like two large deep-fried quail eggs, but it's not. the batter is good and the fish is fresh. : )

Wicked Kitchen's desserts are named after the seven deadly sins. there's Lust, Envy, Pride, Sloth, Wrath, Greed, and Gluttony.

Gluttony. definitely a certified Wicked Kitchen bestseller. freshly baked giant chocolate chip cookie - crusty outside but moist and chewy inside. served with a huge scoop of mantecado ice cream. they gave us two mini gluttony for free because we ordered the dish for the day. but if you order one, it is literally a GIANT cookie - that is good for four people. : ) the ice cream melts quickly because the cookie is freshly baked. : ) that's why you should wait for fifteen minutes for baking time.

next time i'll go back and try their other desserts and pastas. that giant cookie alone makes the trip to that far away land of Mother Ignacia worth it. ; )

Wicked Kitchen is located at 143 Mother Ignacia Avenue, South Triangle, Quezon City. you may call them at 927-1992 for deliveries. : )

06. 02. 09

can you believe it's June already?! time flies. i haven't been posting regularly as i used to before. i think im running out of things to share. maybe because nothing much is happening than the usual - get up in the morning and work till late afternoon, come home, then go to church. hehe. it's been raining on and off since Friday. i love it, especially when im home already. during nights like this, all i want to do is sleep with lots of BIG and fluffy pillows and hide under the comforter. : ) love it!! and even if i want to stay in bed all day, i can't. haha.

my Uncle and Auntie is coming from Taiwan tomorrow. and im excited to see them. they will be staying for two (!) days only then they'll leave for the States already. im planning to go to Bora this October. hope it'll push through. : )

let me share what im munching on tonight -

Krispy Kreme donuts + hot chocolate with marshmallows = YUM : )

goodnight everyone!

ordinary summer night

it's Monday again!! i didn't sleep well last night. when i got home after dinner with my family, i went to bed and tried to sleep, but too many things are still running in my mind. and now my eyes have these dark circles again.

Baked Zitti

Pepperoni Pizza

over the weekend, i finally got to go to Sbarro and satisfy my cravings.. haha! the baked zitti with white sauce and the pizza made my day (and of course D). : ) after which, we watched Angels and Demons.

Open the doors, and tell the world the truth.

why is it so HOT these past few days?!? im going crazy especially during the afternoons. : ( even though you turn on the fan, the air that comes out of it feels like something that comes from a heater!! please let it RAIN. hehe.

i stayed home tonight because im so tired and sleepy. i'll be sleeping early tonight (hopefully..). oh and before i forget,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to AUNTIE REBECCA!!! : ) i miss you very much! and i hope to be able to visit you there in Cebu soon. : )

Deb and Alda

Last Friday, Alda came over and we had dinner together and catch up on a lot of things. i missed her. : ) on Saturday when we came home from church, D and i went to Powerplant to buy something. was supposed to try Pepper Lunch but the line was long so we went to Dulcinea instead. i had my favorite Beef Salpicao. : ) the beef is so tender and flavorful. : ) i also loved the potatoes on the side.

Beef Salpicao

Chicken Cordon Bleu

this week seems pretty fast, don't you think? and here's another week. in two weeks, May is gone. will get my diploma from school tomorrow before going to work. : ) it still didn't sunk in my mind that im not going back to school anymore until my cousins went to the mall this afternoon to buy what they need for another school year. haha! D just left, and im going to bed already. goodnight all. : )

Monsters vs. Aliens

D and i watched Monsters vs. Aliens today at IMAX. : ) it's both our first time to watch there and it was great. i love the screen.. it was really soo big! they said it was the biggest in the world. don't know. but maybe it's true. the whole theater was big too.. i think it's four times the capacity of an ordinary theater.

here we are before the movie started - with our 3D glasses. : )

the movie itself is good. there are parts wherein you'd really laugh out loud. : ) it also showed how important friendship is, no matter what you are. : ) there were alot of kids watching with their parents too (since it's a cartoon), and i was really laughing when i saw them raise their hands altogether trying to hold the pictures in front of them, haha! it's a 3D.. they thought it was real. so cute. : ) i loved our large BBQ popcorn we bought at the snack bar just before entering the theater. we finished it right away! : )

i LOVE Kripy Kreme!!! : )

on our way home, we stopped by Roxas Boulevard and took a picture. too bad the sun was almost gone, haha. but i still loved our shot. : )

quality time

Ace Water Spa

D and i, along with my brother Hans, spent the day at Ace Water Spa. : ) they have more than 20 unique and fully automated Ultrasonic Massage System equipped with therapeutic aquatic jets to relax and soothe tired and aching muscles. each system massages specific areas of the body categorized as soft, moderate, or hard massages. i enjoyed their hot herbal pools and sauna rooms, also the lapping pool. : ) from the last time i visited, they increased their rates to php550 for adults and php250 for kids for four hours. i find it a little bit expensive and not so worth it anymore. good thing i have my Belle de Jour coupon, so we got one free pass. : ) when you're done, they'll give you a free soup at their own Ace Coffee Lounge.

im hungry already by the time we finished. so we dropped by somewhere before coming home and found ourselves at Station 54. : )

i find this a cute idea - it's their address. : )

potato balls

baked macaroni - this is delicious and their pasta is cooked al dente. : )

according to my brother, the place is owned by a couple who are fire volunteers. and goes to the same church where he attends. they have decorated the place with many picture frames, hose, fire extinguishers, helmets.. you get the picture. : ) here are some of the cute firetruck miniatures. : )

goodbye Mr. Fireman! : )

so there. i went to church tonight and im sleepy already. tomorrow we have Sunday School again and i can't wait to see my kids (students, i call them my kids hehe). they are always full with energy and have alot of questions for you. sometimes they are stubborn, sometimes loving, sometimes really really noisy too.. but i still love them. : ) and Jesus loves them too. just like what the song says.. red and yellow black and white, all are precious in His sight. : ) that song reminds me of our class singing it for a contest. : )

that's all folks.

how about you? how'd you spent your day? : )
