My Bestfriend's Wedding.

After almost a week of non stop rain, I was so worried for my bestfriend's wedding which will take place in a garden. I was praying hard, hoping that the rain would stop even just for awhile. And thankfully, it did! :)

I arrived early, and went to see her in her room.

I remembered the times when we were seatmates in our Logic class, still getting to know each other. Then we were just inseparable. We'd always be together working in our laboratory, studying in the library, hanging out in her Mom's office, walking along the hanging bridge in Caleruega, crying our hearts out, and just being there with each other.

After we graduated, sure we did have different paths laid before us. I have to help out with the family business, while she worked in a food company. But despite our busy schedules, we'd still make time for each other. And no matter what happens, I know that our friendship would only grow stronger as time passes.

On this day, I saw my bestfriend marry the love of her life. A relationship tried and tested through time. And I can't give her away, than I can give away my heart. I'm so happy for them. And I just try to hold back my tears as to not ruin my makeup (haha!), but I can't help it anymore when I saw her dance with her Dad. It's just love in the purest form.

Sunday School Teachers' Outing 2011.

Pardon my absence. Was so busy that I hardly have time to update my blog. :( But I'll always come back here. After all, I love to write so I won't forget. :)

Just this Monday, we had our annual Sunday School Teachers' Outing. This time we went to La Luz Beach Resort in San Juan, Batangas. It was raining cats and dogs during Sunday night and I can't help but think how will our outing will push through. I hardly slept, and when I finally got out of bed around 4am to prepare, it was still raining. We left at exactly 5am, and it was a long drive - 4hours! Amazingly, there was no rain when we arrived, and the sun came out too! :) Twas the perfect weather. :)

It only rained a little in the afternoon, and on our way home. :) It feels great to be back in the beach, and away from Dramanila once in awhile. :) With the people close to your heart. In this case - my co teachers. Can you believe that I've been with them for 11years already?? Time flies. :) Some people say that maybe I could just take a break from it. But I'll stay. Coz I know that in the end, only what's done for Him has eternal value. :)

After work today, I met up with my friend Alda - who's also a busybee like me haha. :) But I'm so thankful that despite our busy schedules, we still found time to be together. So I shared what I'm going through these past few days... And even if it still pains me, I'm so thankful to have great girlfriends who's always there for me. :) Always ready to listen, even if they don't really know what to say about it. :)

It's been a week since I can't eat properly. Today, we both had Cookies and Cream Frap at a small coffee shop near our place. And shared a pasta. :) Then just talked the night away and she drove me home. :)

And oh, she gave me some gifts which she got me from her Bora trip just this holy week. Soo nice! I'll try to post some pictures if I have time. :)

I have to admit, I'm really a bad blogger. Haha! It's been soooo long since I've made an update. Bear with me. :)

I've been really sad this past few days. And though I (we) know that I won't be able to right down all the details, I'd try to write some of my feelings because it's really hard to keep it all inside. If I can just put all these into one sentence, it would be - Too good to be true. Some things make me happy, but it makes me scared because it can't be true. And I know, it is not true. Can't be true.

I've been losing my appetite. Even if I'm really hungry, I just can't eat. Just few bites, and I'm done. Please pray for me. :)

Last weekend upto today, we just held our annual Vacation Bible School in church. And I'm blessed to be part of it again. :) Seeing all the kids.. without any worries.. makes me wanna be a kid again. To just be satisfied with whatever is given to me.

I'm sorry for the lack of posts. But I've got to say, I miss blogging!! :) So how's everyone? We're now in the third month of the year.

Since the last time I posted, a lot of things happened; for me, at least. My Dad had a problem with hypertension. He was also palpitating. One night, his heartbeat was up to 160/minute! It's so fast it freaks me out. :( And he's scared too. Who won't be? But the problem here is this: he's scared. So it beats fast. I was asking him what he's scared of, and his answer is death. We went to see some doctors but they can't find anything wrong with him. So I came to the conclusion that this is all in the mind. It's the work of the enemy. I kept praying. Even asked some people to pray for my Dad too. It's a long process.. But I don't have the time and energy now to go into all the details. I just want to share that it's been 8 days and counting since my Dad is perfectly okay! :) Praise! Thank You Lord. :)

I'm so grateful. But I tell you, when you're there, it's really so hard. You feel so helpless because you know you can't do anything. Then there's this voice in my heart that says, Trust Me. So that's just what I did. I invite you to trust too, my friend. When I see people, it makes me think what's behind every smile. What they're going through. My prayer tonight is that may each one of us learn to trust the one who loved us long before we existed. The one who called us by name. And the one who died for us. :)

I'm still here! :) January is almost over and I can't believe this is my first post for 2011! O.o

Anyway, life is still the same. Granny is getting worse, I just don't understand her anymore. I'm tired of it all.

Since the last time I blogged, which was last Christmas,

I've joined our conference in church. :) And it's abundant and wonderful. It's amazing just how the Lord never gets tired of me, and everyone of us.

We also had our Praise and Thanksgiving Program in Sunday School. :)

Spent the New Year in (COLD!) Tagaytay with my family. :)

Saw Candy after a few months working in China. :)

Just a few weeks into this year, I've heard a lot of sad news including the murder of two car dealers, a raped and beheaded 5-year old girl, a bus blast, and just today, where an accident that killed 10 construction workers. I'm particularly sad with the first one, especially because my Dad is also a car dealer, and he knows the father of one of the victim. It's a sad reality that we live in this fallen world where it's not "Your money or your life" anymore, but now it's "I'll kill you anyway". People kill like its the norm. They kill just because they feel like it. And they'd do anything just to survive no matter what it takes. This week, I've been to the hospital for four times. First is to visit a friend who gave birth, two of it is to accompany my brother to the doc because of allergy, and this morning, to visit my cousin who accidentally slipped in school. While waiting for the results of the CT scan and Xray, somebody in the opposite part of the emergency room died, who also slipped in the comfort room and suffered internal bleeding. Life is so short. Poof. Just like that, and you're gone. On my way back to the office today, I was really thinking of how I used my life. When my time comes, can I really say to the Lord that I've used it wisely? This afternoon, I've shared in our small group in church about the Lord's coming. It made me realized that we're really near the end. All these things - hardships, calamities - are written and have been told to us a long time ago. It's getting harder each day, and my prayer is that each one of us can really stand firm till the end.

It's a sad reality, but no matter how sad all these is, one thing is for sure: my (our) God is still the same. He never changes. And I rest in the knowledge that He is with us, in everything.

Hello! :) It's been a busy December and there's still a lot needed to be done as this year comes to an end.

My parents just celebrated their anniversary. :)

This is what I love most about the holidays - shopping! :) For family and friends and for myself. Ha! I love bazaars and all the rush. :)

I'm so thankful for having a brother who's kind enough to drive for me too. :)

On other news, if you follow my blog, you'd know that my relationship with my granny are not so smooth. Actually it's not only me. Her relationship with everybody is not okay. And I don't know what's happening except that it's getting worse. She keeps on yelling and nagging to get things done. I can't work well in the office because of her. I can't sleep well at night because she sleeps after work, and when it's really time to go to bed, that's the time she'd wake up and start doing stuffs that's annoyingly noisy that'd keep you up the whole night. :( Is it just because she's getting older? Her choice of words and the tone she uses is totally different. And this just frustrates me. And my whole family as well. :( Sometimes I wanna answer back and walk away but I didn't because I know that it's wrong. :(

Anyway... What did you plan for your vacation? :) My cousins are going to Japan, others are going to Singapore and Malaysia. While I'm stuck here in Manila. Haha! I wish I could go with them and take a vacation too. :) So as usual, I'm attending our church's Youth Conference this Sunday-Wednesday. And we also have the yearly Praise Festival for Sunday School when I get back. :)

This morning we went to visit my maternal grandparents. :) And it's so traffic outside it took us two hours to get to their place! O.o I'm home blogging and waiting for PLDT people to come and put up another phone line. So I guess that's all for now! :)

Today, I finally got my Starbucks planner for 2011. :) I've been collecting their planner since 2006. :) I love writing. Even if I keep a blog, I still keep a diary. :) I add pictures, stickers, and everything else to make it more personalized. At the end of each year, I look back on what the past year has brought me, there's always ups and downs, the joy and pain that goes with it. In the end, it's all good. :)

They have three designs this year - Wood, Metal, and Velvet. After much thinking, I finally got the wood. :)

While walking around the mall, I noticed this cute pink store named Invitation House. :) They accept made to order customized desk planners, calendars, and notebooks. :)

They also have colorful Christmas gift tags with many designs to choose from. :)

Aside from that, they have large square notepads, notebooks, personalized initial invites, blank cards, gift wrappers, and a lot more. :) It took me a good 30 minutes looking at the stuffs and bought a few for myself. :) I think these are good gift ideas for Christmas. :) I'll be back for sure when I have the chance. :)

Today is the last day of October, and it's Halloween. :)

This morning, I was given a chance to share during our Youth Fellowship at church. I shared about the importance of obeying the will of God and its eternal value. :) I love the fact that whatever we do for God here on earth has eternal value in heaven. Because everything in this world will pass away one day. I hope what we do won't be in vain. :)

I wonder where we'll go tonight, but wherever that is, it would still be fun because I'm with the people I love most - my family. :)

Tomorrow, early in the morning, we'll be going to Manila Memorial Park in Cavite to visit our Grandpa's.

Last week, I booked with Celebrity Nails and tried their body massage. :) They offer home service spa treatments and nail care. :) I love that they bring all the things that they need, from the towels down to the oils/lotion, complete with a foldaway spa chair. :)

You can click the picture for a larger view of the price list. They have many celeb do service for them, so they really live up to their name. ;) Next time I'll try their spa pedicure. :) Nothing beats a good massage after a day's hard work. :)

Today, I turn 23. :) I'm old! It still didn't sunk into me that I'm 23. Whenever I fill up a form or something that asks how old am I, I still write 20. Life stops at 20? Haha! ;)

But seriously, I've learned a lot. :) Though we may have gone through hard times, these would only make us stronger as a person. :) Growing up, I've been taught to be thankful for what I have.. and for what I don't have. And there are so many things that are here now that I'm grateful for. :)

I'm grateful for fabulous friends (and good food!). :)

I'm thankful for family. :)

I'm blessed to have these two man in my life. My Dad and little brother. :)

Hi all! :) it's October already. can you believe it? :) i woke up to a rainy Friday morning and im loving the weather. it makes me want to stay under the sheets all day. :) but i can't. boo. haha. im still home today, because we are repainting our house, and changing the outlets. :) so it's messy here. i can't wait to see the whole thing done. :) we've moved here 13 years ago and it's great to make a few changes now. :) i also think it's the perfect timing since my grandmother went abroad with her sisters for two weeks. :)

Did you notice anything new? yes, i changed the layout of my blog. :) time for some changes right? :) im pretty satisfied with this one compared to the old one. how about you?

Sorry for being quiet here. been too busy with work, work, work, and church stuffs. but you know that i always update whenever i have time right? :) i still got some things done, like finishing Nicholas Sparks' latest book - Safe Haven. :) have you read it? it's beautiful! as always. :) i recommend you to read it, it won't disappoint. :)

I also joined the career outing with some churchmates at Grande Island Resort in Subic. :) it was a fun trip, even if i almost puked while we were riding the boat to get to the other island. i love my room mates, especially Grace. of course. :)

And last but not the least, i finally found the time to renew my passport already! haha. :)

last Sunday, we celebrated Ama's 73rd birthday at Gloria Maris. we invited her sisters and each one's family. i didn't imagined we were that plenty. the old and the young were all present. it was tiring but fun. :)

last night, grace and i went to visit a gospel friend. im glad that they agreed to go to interview with us and be baptized on Sunday morning. when we were about to leave, the mom was so furious and yelled at us. questioning what we were doing to her daughters, and told us eversince we invited them to go to church, they changed. that they became disrespectful, self-centered and all. it lasted for about ten minutes and we just kept silent. shocked maybe? but there's nothing to say really. because she won't understand us either.

this afternoon, i went to the drugstore to buy something, then i saw this scary-looking man looking at me. and he was paying attention to my every move. so i looked back at him as if saying "what!?". i waited for him and his two friends to finish paying for what they bought and leave the drugstore. i waited for sometime to make sure they won't return. i stepped out, looked around and the coast is clear, but as i reached the corner, i saw the three of them again, looking around to see if there were people and back at me. it's so creepy! so i turned around and thankfully saw a Baranggay Tanod, i told him to please cross the street with me because the guys were really scary and i think they wanted to holdup me. it's embarrassing, feels like im a 6year old girl again, but it really scared me. :( *sigh*

This (Not So Good) Week

this is what surprised me Tuesday night. my grandmother beside one of the cabinets that housed some of my things. i asked her what she was doing and she was just so furious. this then led to unpleasant conversations and yelling that left me crying all night. i didn't answered back anymore because i know it will only make things worse than they already are. she's really not herself and i just don't understand her anymore.

and here comes Basyang (the typhoon). the wind howled all night and lights were out. and it was a really sad sad night. one of the saddest i can remember and it feels like im so lost.

fast forward to today. Sunday. the grownups went to a party during lunch, so i, together with my brother and two cousins, went to the mall to pick up a book i pre-ordered at Powerbooks. :)

got it! :) Crazy Love by Francis Chan. :) i got many books now waiting to be read. hmmm.. it's all goood. :)

we stopped by Cerealicious to snack and rest for awhile.

lately, im struggling on how to deal with my grandmother. she started to change two weeks ago. she suddenly becomes so full of energy that she wants to get involved in everything. she cleans eveything she could get her hands on, she threw away some things that meant so much to me, she emptied our pantry, she opens my cabinet, she comments on my clothes, my things, on how i do things. actually, she's not only like that to me, she's like that almost towards everybody. it seems like there's always something (bad) to say all the time. and it seems like i don't know her anymore. it just makes me sad and frustrated. :( i work with her, i live with her, and i share the same room with her. and im really sad because i can't do anything about it. i just want to have her old self back. :(

and so... im always sad, whether i go to work or come home. either way, im still with her. it's not that i don't want to be with her, it's just that i don't want what's happening between us. it makes me want to get away for awhile. to breathe. :(

anyways, i think it's time to hit the sack. early tomorrow! i hope tomorrow will be a good day. goodnight folks. :)

hello all. it's a new month once again. we're now on the 7th month of 2010. :)

yesterday, i had a training for Sunday School early in the morning. after that, i tutored then went back to work. we're still open even during holidays.

we now have a new president too. :) i hope Aquino will do better than Arroyo.

last night, i attended our practice for Sunday. our song - Who Am I. if ever, it will be our first time to sing it. but our practice didn't go well. :( im trying to find an easier piano piece, then i got a text that our songs will be changed already.

im still at home now. because we have a new maid, so i have to show her around. i'll be back at work after lunch. :)

so there, just popped in to do a quick post. :) now i'll go back to cleaning my book shelf. :)

after my meeting last Sunday, i went out with the girls to celebrate Candy's birthday. :)

we took a studio pic together (with a not-so-good and impatient photographer), and had Razon's halo-halo afterwards. :) the time we spent was short, but i still enjoyed it. :) in August, Candy's gonna work in China already. i sure am going to miss her. :)

today is not a good day. im so frustrated and sad with my grandmother. she's been nagging the whole time since yesterday. i hate it! i hate whatever's gotten into her! :( i can't imagine how to deal with it if this continues the whole week. im going to DIE.

Tuesday: i finally got my yearbook! :) my college yearbook is here, but my high school yearbook is nowhere to be found. seeing my name and picture there reminds me of one thing - im getting old! my school days are over. but it will always hold a special place in my heart. :)

Wednesday: attended an orientation for Hannah at St.Stephens.

:my cousin Joy got herself a DSLR for her photography class at school. :)

Thursday: Manila Day! :) watched Toy Story 3 with my cousins and Erwin. :)

Friday: lovin' Kaspersky. :) i bought an anti virus for my computer because i need it badly. viruses are everywhere and the old one i have isn't able to detect and delete it properly. so im glad to have this, even though it's a little bit pricey for me since i always use the free ones i get to download from the net.

:this afternoon, i was given a chance to share in our Gospel Meeting at church, together with Koo. :) im so scared up until the last minute i feel like im going to puke. but the Lord was there the entire meeting and im thankful that He carried us through. :)

Saturday: after tutoring and picking up the groceries, i went to see Alda. :) it's been so long since we last saw each other! :)

:lunch with Dustin. :) then he went back to work and i just watched DVD at home - Forrest Gump. :) loved the silence and privacy i had even for a short while. :) sometimes, it's good to be alone too. :)

:tonight, i got some news and i don't know what to feel about it. i know i should be happy, but im really scared because i know what im capable of, and i think i can't make it. please pray for me. :) thanks!

Toy Story 3

today, my cousins and i watched Toy Story 3. :)

as with the past two parts, they have similar plot lines such as having the constant fear of being discarded and unwanted when one turns old, or to obsess with the thought of being forgotten and unappreciated, and almost always comes up with a distance to conquer. that continues here in stronger terms given that it's been some 11 years years since the last Toy Story film. here, Andy is going to relocate to attend college, and he had to leave his toys. parting is such sweet sorrow. :)

this movie is a must see. it's a sequel done right, and a tale with a lot of heart. :) with elements encompassing what essentially is a fitting tribute and farewell to beloved characters that have blazed for computer generated animation to take centerstage.

with people like me, who grew up with this film, it's perfect. and worth the wait. :) Pixar has done a great job, and i love that they always come out with solid stories to tell. :)

Sunday School Teacher's Outing

on Monday, June 14, our Sunday School teachers and some of their families gathered together for an outing at Subic. :) our call time was 6am, but our bus arrived at 6:30. anyway, we boarded the bus immediately and off we go. we got there around 9:30am already. it was a long drive. we stayed at the Camayan Beach Resort. :)

it was almost sunset when we left. :) i heard it rained in Manila but it didn't rained there. until we were in the highway. and stopped over at a gasoline station to buy our dinner at KFC - Omega's treat! thanks friend. :) i was so tired when i came home, knowing i still have to work the next day.. i think everybody was; but all in all, it was a great trip! :) it wasn't just the place nor the experience, but it has more to do with the people who made it even more special. :)

i just finished reading I Will Carry You : The Sacred Dance of Grief and Joy. i found Angie's blog from someone i don't know, and since then, i've been following her blog and have written her twice too. i knew some about Audrey and their family, and i love her open honesty and how she shared her family with all of us.

Angie is someone so committed to the Lord, so dedicated to His purposes. her faith is incredibly strong, and i am encouraged in my faith by her example.

when i knew that she was going to write a book, i can't help but find a way to get a copy. and when i got it on Friday night, i started reading over the weekend whenever i get the chance. it is a beautifully written, honest, touching, and strong story. it is intimate that you really feel like you are there in the waiting room with her, standing at Audrey's funeral with her, talking with her sweet girls with her, crying in the middle of the night with her, and crying in the bathroom floor until she gets weak with her. i don't think i have cried so much reading a book before. the book is breathtaking. you will weep. you will be challenged. you will question. but in the end, this truth remains - despite our feelings, our God remains unchanged. another thing i love about this book is the part where Angie's husband, Todd, wrote a chapter from a man's perspective. i highly recommend this book not just to people who have experienced the loss of a child, but to everyone. because all of us will one day find ourselves the grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, and friend of someone grieving.

In Him and only Him, i stand firm.

Toes in the water, staring out into the great landscape He has painted for me, i bravely step out farther every day. i know that as soon as i reach the place where my feet no longer touch the ocean floor, He will carry me into the distance, all the while reminding me He has never left me.

A Love For Books

i didn't have had a great day today. many things / people / events made me sad and disappointed. but there are still some things that made my day -

1) finally having a copy of Angie's book I Will Carry You

2) my brother Hans surprising me with Nicholas Sparks' A Walk To Remember

3) seeing my brother Mark again after three long weeks

4) thank God it's Friday :)

i love my little brothers. :) no matter what happens, at the end of the day, i know i always have my family. and that's more than enough. :) Mark and my stepmom went for a three week vacation to US. and as a present, i asked them to buy me Angie's book because it's not available here. im glad they found it. :)

i've read all of Sparks' novels, but i don't have my own copy of The Notebook and A Walk To Remember. and tonight after visitation, i got one. last one left. i'll buy the other one soon so i can complete my collection already. :)

im excited to start reading my new books. :) maybe tomorrow. i hope it'll rain. then i'll stay at home, read my books, with a cup of hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows. wow. i love that. :) tomorrow! i'll sleep now, because my head hurts. goodnight everyone! :)

Sisterly Love

yesterday, Sis. Mau's big group, which included our group, had a love feast/gathering at Koo's house. :) we were 25 sisters in all. we sang hymns, then Mau shared a few words. we prayed, played Pinoy Henyo and charades, and swam. :) i've always loved swimming. ♥ then it RAINED. so i danced in the rain! i LOVE it. :) dinner time. we had 2 big pizzas, pasta (red and white sauce), hotdogs with mallows, roasted chicken, fruit salad, ice creams, and small cakes. :) got home a little late. tired. especially because we have to work the following day.. but a great time was had by all. :) thank you Lord. :)

it's better late than never! :) i haven't got the chance to see this movie as it opened last week; i checked if it's still showing in the malls near my place, but it's out. Shrek is in. haha. luckily, Gateway has it. :) the movie is beautiful. i like it better than Dear John. :) it not only centers on love.. but also on family, on second chances, and moments in life. i could watch it over and over again. :) and this is also a movie based on a Nicholas Sparks' novel, im glad i didn't missed it. :)

i love how honest the writer wrote this. he didn't used flowery words to make it beautiful, but instead he told the Lord how he really felt. these days, it's hard to find someone who's true. you know what i mean? someone who'll show you who he really is. without trying to pretend to be someone they're not. as i grow up, i came to realize more and more that life is not a fairytale, nor a bed of roses, or a happy-ever-after. there are trials, painful and cruel realities that you have to face. loss is also one thing that's inevitable. i've come face to face with loss a lot of times and it left my heart crushed. but amidst these things, there's also someone who's always there. it's the Lord. it's during these times that we'll learn to grow as a person, experience Him more, know Him deeper, and it is my hope that i'll be able to be a woman that He desires me to be.

i'll be sharing tomorrow night in our Bible Study meeting. no matter how many times i stand up in front of a bunch of people, i still get nervous. so i would love to ask for your prayer about this. thanks in advance. :)

last weekend, we had our annual VBS (vacation bible school) at church with the theme: Take The Plunge. :) it was a fun event for everyone, big and small alike. the decorations in each site amazed the kids too. :) they had a great time playing in the sand box, listening to stories, doing crafts, and playing games. :)

i just came home from the hospital. yesterday, my Auntie was confined and underwent a major operation this morning. it should only take 30-45minutes, but she was done only after 2hours!! the hardest part is the waiting. and instead of 2-3hours in the recovery room, it took her 4hours to be transferred back to the normal room. she was experiencing pains, and feeling nauseated. the doctor said it's because of the side effects of the anesthesia.

she was still sleeping when i left. i lack sleep these past few days, pimples and dark circles start to show again. well hopefully, i'll be able to get some rest tonight. tomorrow, i'll be staying with her again. :) please pray for a fast recovery. :)

thanks everyone! dinnertime now. it's really so HOT. i know i've been saying this over and over.. but the heat is unbelievable. it's killing me. and a lot others. hay. anyway.. that's all for now. :)

Isella, our high school best friend, took a leave from work and visited Francine and me. :) we never saw each other again since we graduated high school because their family moved to Laguna already. and now, here we are again, after SIX long years. :) but as if nothing changed. haha. we look the same, i think. but we're more mature now than before. when our conversation revolves around hair, clothes, and boys. this time, it's different. :) we talked about the good old times. asked about some of our batch mates, which some have their own families already. i can't believe how fast time flies. each of us graduated college already and works now. it's really nice to take time and meet once in awhile. :)

that's what we did for dinner at Spiral in Sofitel. :) we had a double celebration because it was also Uncle Jimmy's birthday. :) i was feeling so sick after i came home from the meeting, but i don't want to disappoint my Dad so i joined dinner. and im glad i did. :) there's a wide selection of food.. and desserts! my favorite for the night were Escargot [an edible snail] soup (it may sound gross, but boy, it was so yummy! i finished eight bowls!), vanilla creme brulee, goose liver, and sushis. :) it was a great night with family. :)

im tired.

i don't know why i feel tired these past few... months. i miss being a student. where there are always holidays and breaks to look forward to. but when you're working, you work and work. there's no summer nor sem break. boo! in a nutshell, my life is this: work, tutor (work), eat, and church. in between, of course i also eat and sleep. and sometimes like tonight, i find time to blog. it's not that i don't love/like what im doing. it's just that i want to have a break. or else, i think ill burnout. :( really. i want to get away for awhile. when i was younger, travelling was hard because my Dad is always worried about me. but im a grownup now. when i tell my Dad my reasons, im sure he'll let me. :) i know, coz i tried. ;) i just want to get away from the city.. from the noise.. the pollution.. the computer. away from it all. just pure rest. :) who wants to go too? :) anywhere will do. but i have some local places in mind like Bohol, Ilocos, and Amanpulo! the last one is definitely impossible. hahaha! ;) for now, at least. :)

last Wednesday, we left for Clark along with a lot of brothers and sisters who came from different places. the theme for this year's conference is Knowing Christ More. we had a stopover halfway to eat our lunch. :)

there's nowhere to go during break time except in our rooms. sometimes we sleep, shower, but often, we just talk. :) sometimes the silence, especially during mornings, is almost deafening. but i treasure it because for a short time, im able to have some quiet time away from the noise and pollution of the city. :)

during our last night, after i came back from Holiday Inn and after Grace's practice, we went to see Nancy and her baby girl. :) she's so cute with her rosy cheeks, only to find out that it was actually rashes. haha. ;)

the conference was abundant and beautiful. :) and im so grateful to be able to join. the messages shared by speakers were enlightening. :) the songs One Desire and Here I Am To Worship really touched my heart. :) the Lord spoke to me in many ways. and during prayer time in the breaking of bread meeting, i was once again reminded of His love for me. somehow in my heart the Lord is telling me that it is not the nails that held Him on the cross, but it was love. :) can we find another who can love us like that? someone who we leave and reject again and again but would still not give up on us? no one can. only Jesus. :)

may we live a life worthy of the calling. :)

i woke up early today to attend my brother's graduation at Hope. :) we came an hour earlier and we were able to choose a good seat. it was good to see old faces of my teachers before. five years ago, i also walked in the same chapel, which is now called Hope Theater Hall. :) they renovated it and it's so different from the one we used before. it's better, more improved and equipped now. :)

we had a family picture before the program started. here's my step mom. i think this is the first time i'll be posting a picture with her in it. we're not really close, but we're civil. :) she's nice though. i think im just used to without a mom. ;)

here's Papa and Hans. :) my brother is taller than my Dad now. haha. ;)

and here i am with my little brothers. :) i love them!! and i'd do anything for them. :) the program started at 9am. the honor students entered first, then each class marched in led by their respective advisers. Hans' adviser is Mrs. Carreon, which was also my adviser when i was graduating. :) we sang the national anthem and school song. some students delivered their speech. but the part i liked most aside from when Hans went up the stage was the encouraging message delivered by a guest speaker, Ms. Belen Lim. she's a very successful woman, but all these success only made her humble. and it made me admire her for that. she shared her experiences when she was a student, the lessons she learned throughout her 30 years in the banking industry, and her turning point during a church camp. :)

speaking of camps, we're off tomorrow to Pampanga. and we'll be back on Sunday afternoon. i know that God will work in this conference. i pray for revival and restoration. just like a line in a song says, "Our heart, our desire, is to see the nations worship.." . nothing is worth more than giving your life to the Lord. :) even though i have a lot of failures, i know that i'll always be going back to the Lord. because of His unfailing love. :) we may be hard, put a wall around our heart for fear of being rejected and hurt again, but trust me, open your heart to Him, give Him all the pieces, and He'll mend it for us. :)

hello friends! :) so sleeeeeepy today. but im happy it's Friday already. :) in less than a week, i'll be in Pampanga attending our annual summer conference. i can't imagine it's so near already. anyway.. here are some pictures of what has been going on in the past few days.. aside from work. :)

Hannah already graduated from kindergarten. :) with honors in both English and Chinese class. im proud of her. :) next year, she'll be in grade one already. :)

last Tuesday, this beautiful girl turned 10. :) im happy to see her grow into a sweet, young lady. :) we celebrated her birthday at Korean Village in Malate. yum foods! i loved their ice cream too that i bought some and brought it home. :) twas a great night with family. :)

yesterday, Joy, Grace, and i went to visit Faith and her baby boy - Zion, who's one week old today. :) he's so tiny and red. babies indeed are adorable. :)

aileen and me. photo taken last week. haggard! tired and exhausted here.

when we are lazy to walk some more steps, we eat here at Genki Cafe which is just at the ground floor of Sanctuarium. we love their Tonkatsu rice topping and Kani Salad. :) for a change from the usual fastfood.

i just stayed home today. :) can't believe that another week is about to end. it's nice to be home alone.. i just realized how hard it is to have ten people under one roof!!! it just gets too noisy at times and you can't help it. when im older, i want a small family. :) im not a fan of big groups. even when it come to friends. it's HOT again today. nothing new. and i don't know whether to stay in the room or outside. i just kept wandering here and finally decided to have a long bath without using the heater. and that made me feel better. :) we cooked spaghetti here at home, and i fixed my table. saw some of my handouts and notes during college and missed the old days. :) when the sun was about to set, and it's okay to walk outside, i went to Yogi Haus with Dus and had some frozen yogurt. :) yummy!! :)

So here i go...

spent three days at the Sanctuarium with my cousins. visitors are few during daytime. so we spend time talking about just anything. time is fast when you're there. i wonder why. when people come, the same stories are told, same questions answered.

on Sunday afternoon at 2pm, we left Sanctuarium and headed to Manila Memorial Park in Dasmarinas, Cavite for the burial. we walked twice. family and friends walked alongside our family. and i saw just how everyone's support comforted the family. the service was quick, and was done within an hour.

these past few days, im spending time with Aileen. we are finding some important documents at their home that are necessary to transact some things like cancelling credit cards, paying bills and transferring of funds.

yesterday, my Dad was rushed to the emergency room because of hypertension. his blood pressure went up to 180!! =( i was so afraid and im not even home to go to the hospital right away. i felt so helpless and terrified. =( my brother was with him, and after 1 hour, the doctor sent him home and gave him meds and advised him to rest. can you do me a favor? please pray for him. thanks.

it's so HOT!! the dams are drying up, power running out which results to rotating brownouts, and plants are dying too. i can't imagine that it's been three months without rain! while it's still snowing on some parts of the globe. earthquakes are everywhere too. i receive news via text everyday and hear about earthquakes. you probably heard about the 8.8 magnitude quake at Chile last Saturday. it's scary. it's stronger than the one in Haiti. but both brought great damage. when that happens here, im sure buildings will collapse right away. *sigh* the end is really near. i don't think we still have 20 more years. 10 maybe? or 5? well, who can tell. nobody knows.

guess i'll stop here. i'll lie down and rest for awhile before going to church for the prayer meeting tonight. it's been awhile too.

So Sudden.

on my way home Tuesday afternoon, i got a call that my auntie will not be able to come to our house because her husband, Uncle Wilson, is so sick and they need to bring him to the hospital. but we didn't know that it was so serious.

when we arrived the emergency room of UDMC (because it's the nearest hospital from their home), i saw many doctors and nurses surrounding his bed. IVs dripping.. giving him oxygen to help him breathe.. and many other wires that i don't know what for. he went in for a CT scan, and when the result came, the doctor said that a vein was ruptured, and the blood spread all throughout his brain. the place cannot be operated. and there's no way he can make it. =( he was transferred to the ICU and stayed there during the night.

the next morning, my cousin Aileen went to stay with him. the hospital doesn't allow anyone even relatives to stay in the ICU unless it's during the visiting hours. so she stayed at the waiting area. then the nurse came out and informed her that her dad's heartbeat is so fast and has fever at 42C!! it's the first time i heard someone with a temp so high! we later earned that the vein that was ruptured is the one in control of the body temperature. after awhile, the doctor said that the patient is unstable again. they tried to resuscitate him for 45minutes but the line in the monitor remains flat. he breathed his last, then he's gone. at 54years old. =( i wasn't there when it happened. only my cousin, her mom, my dad, and Uncle Ramon.

it's all so sudden. he didn't made it even for a day. =( he has highblood.. maybe that's why the vein ruptured. he also survived two strokes before.

we are not close personally, but i also have some good memories with him. he loves plants and animals. when you go to their house, there's dogs, birds, fishes, hamsters, rabbits, and a snake. it's like a mini zoo. ;) in their rooftop, you'll find different kind of plants and many orchids. :) im sad. but my heart really breaks for my Auntie Alice and my cousins. especially Aileen. =( we stayed at Sanctuarium last night and while she was telling me what happened in the hospital and some memories of her dad, tears were flowing and my heart broke into pieces. =( i love her so much and it's sad that i can't do anything that would lessen her pain. =(

today.. im blogging from Sanctuarium since there's free wifi and no visitors are around. i arrived this morning with my cousin Joy along with Erwin. i think we'll stay here till tonight. and they will be sleeping in our house. please pray for them. especially during this time.. when our words can't really do anything. but i believe that God is able to give them peace and comfort.

last Saturday, after a hearty lunch at Cibo, i was able to watch this movie with my bestfriend and her sister. :) among Sparks' novels, Dear John is the one i love most (i read it three times!). :) was the movie exactly the same as the novel? of course not. that would be impossible. but they were close, and they were able to capture the spirit of the story and the spirit of the characters. :)

his latest novel, The Last Song, is also being adapted into a movie too. it debuts on April 2. im looking forward to watching it. :)

was sick last week. literally everything in me, aches. but somehow, i managed to attend the funeral services on Wednesday and Saturday nights which was held by the Sunday School people and Student Group respectively.

a lot of people shared during Wednesday night - Sis. June, Bro. Robert, Sis. Helen, Sis. Gloria, Ruth, Rachel, Lindsey, Timmy, Sis. Judy, Sis. Omega, and Sis. Elizabeth. everyone shared their memories with Sien Si and i was moved to tears as i listened to each one. it made me come to know her better and realized how fleeting life is. that it's not what we have, but how we touch other people's lives which really matters.

on Saturday, i had the chance to share a few words at the wake. a lot of people was there. so many familiar faces too. and yesterday afternoon, they brought her remains at the Manila Memorial in Sucat. it's sad. but as everyone said, this is not a goodbye. because one day, i know that we will see each other again. and in that, i find comfort. :)

it's a Monday again. im glad it's almost over. i don't know what's with Mondays but i really don't like it. it's always back to. back to something we do normally. for my brothers, it's back to school. for me, it's back to work. which i don't really love. sigh.

im feeling much better now than last week. still have stuffy nose. but fever is all gone. thank God. :) tomorrow im going to undergo a test to check something. and sometime this week, im going to see a doctor again. please include me in your prayers. :)

during my free time, im reading again my book - Three Weeks With My Brother by (no other than) Nicholas Sparks. im a fan, i know you know that by now. :) im halfway through it, and it's really a GREAT book. :) i can read it over and over again. he's coming up with a new book again later this year. :) im excited. :)

a lot of things happened yesterday...

my friend, Grace, is a big fan of Kim and Gerald. so last December, she was telling me about a movie that the two are going to make and that she wants us to watch it. yup, i know you know and heard about the movie - Paano Na Kaya. ;) it's been a long time since i've watched a Filipino movie. im not fond of watching the telly either. id rather sleep. hehe. so came Saturday, and we went to the mall early in the morning and bought tickets for the movie.

her two sisters, Joy and Hannah joined us too. :) but Joy didn't watched the movie. we had lunch together at Sbarro - baked zitti in white and tomato sauce, two slices of white pizza, cream of mushroom soup, and raspberry iced tea. we were full. ;) after lunch, we went to the movie house already and got a good seat. :) it ran for almost two hours. i rarely appreciate a Filipino flick because of same storylines, but in all fairness, i can say that the movie is a good one. :) i won't spill it here, just watch for yourself. :) but if you're like my cousin, who'd rather wait for a DVD copy, wait for awhile then. :)

i saw some trailers of movies coming up. im looking forward to seeing Dear John. it's a novel by Nicholas Sparks that's been adapted into a movie just like The Notebook, A walk To Remember, Nights In Rodanthe, and Message In A Bottle.. and it's one of my favorite books!! :) it's showing next week, February 5. :)

after dinner, though i am really tired, i attended church. and.. you know what happened next.

on other news, my Uncle and his wife came here this Monday (which was supposed to be last Saturday but was delayed because he got sick) for a visit before returning to the States again. they went to Taiwan to buy some things that they need for the church, and came here for awhile before going home again.

i entertained them while they stayed in our house. :)

and he was kind enough to reformat my really sick and slow computer. i saved some of my files in Drive D because this is what everyone told me to do.. and some in USBs. when he finished doing my computer, changing it from Windows Vista to the more simple Windows XP, voila! all my files in Drive D are erased!! haaayy. :( all my schoolworks, some pictures, the soft copy of our thesis, are all there. :( well.. im done being sad with it. because i know no matter what i do, i can't take it back anymore. but i can say that im so pleased with how fast my comp is running now. :) makes the things get done easier and faster. :) BUT! (another but) i don't have a picture editor! i can't crop, edit, adjust my pictures. and that. is. sad. anybody knows where i can get one? thanks in advance! :)

they are currently based in San Jose, California and they are telling me stories on how different life is there from what we have here. obviously, it's so overcrowded here. well, at least here in Binondo. from the time you set foot outside your house, you'll see people and cars everywhere. and im sick of it!! i wanna go somewhere else. in their place, is where people go to work. Yahoo, Google, and all these computer companies are just a walk away from their home. houses are far from each other too. unlike here where people literally live above each other's houses - condos. they drive to get somewhere, while we usually walk here. one thing that's good here? the food. haha! i can't live eating burgers everyday. and for that, im still thankful. :)

this morning during our Sunday School, all the teachers wore white. and it's really sad. you can see some crying.. while other eyes are so puffed from crying the night before. Sis. May Hwa, or Sien Si Bi Hwa (as i call her), is one of the great teachers in Sunday School. she has a BIG heart for everyone. and it's still sad to know that from today on, every Sunday, i won't be seeing her anymore. :(

i came home earlier and didn't finished the youth fellowship because i felt that im having a fever.. and im right. so after taking meds, i slept for awhile while waiting for Grace to finish the prayer small group at church. after that, we went to Sanctuarium together with Koo and Candy to visit. a lot of people were there too.

im home now. i didn't joined my family in a birthday party tonight because i don't feel well yet. my head aches. my body aches. i have sorethroat too. but my temperature is normal at 37.3. finishing this now.. and will sleep already.

tomorrow is a start of a new month and we're saying bye bye to January already. fast.

i am so SAD. :(

just tonight during our church meeting, i received a text message and learned that my piano teacher, Sis. May Hwa, went to be with the Lord already. :( i called to confirm it, and it's true.

i just couldn't believe it. even now as i type this. it's just so sudden.

she's such a joyful person. she's a big loss to everyone around her. :(

we lost a mother, a grandmother, a teacher, a sister, and a friend. :(

please pray for her family. may God comfort them during this hard time. :(

i love weekends :) this morning, my cousin Joy and i played the piano and keyboards during the youth fellowship. our songs were Throne of Praise, My Jesus I Love Thee, and How Great is Our God. :) after lunch, we got a haircut together at Hair 101 and ate ice creams. :) can you see a change? ;)

this week i read a new book - Till Debt Do Us Part: Practical Steps to Financial Freedom by Chinkee Tan. i just saw it in my grandmother's table and started reading it. and finished it in two days! :) fast for me since i only read during free time. it's a good read and i highly recommend it for everyone, even teens can read it because it is simple and practical. :) here are some points from the book i'd like to share:

- it is not how much money you make, but how much money you save.
- if you work hard now, you will play later. if you play now, you will pay later.
- people fail to budget because of laziness and lack of discipline.
- they get into debt because they spend tomorrow's income today and are unwilling to change lifestyle when circumstances have changed.

he also shared some personal experiences. :) he said that people get into debt because of their wrong attitude toward money which is greed, worry, and false security.

well, try to read it! im sure you'll learn a lot. :) it also gave me a new perspective with money. :)

the youngest among my cousins, Hannah, is up with a fever now. :( i hope she gets better so she can go to school tomorrow. bye for now friends. :)

happy new year! :) another year has passed again and 2009 has been a mixture of both joy and pain. a lot of changes took place in my life during the past year, and despite all the trials, God has been faithful and carried me through. :) i attended the four-day youth winter conference at Pampanga last December 27-30. it was great and im glad that i was able to go. :) i will share more when i have time. :)

my family went to Fontana today and will stay for a night, but i didn't go so i can attended church today. some brothers and sisters shared testimonies on how God led them last year. :) after church, i played badminton with a friend on our penthouse. :) the sky is so beautiful while we were playing! it's a mixture of blue and red. loved it :)

two more days and life goes back to normal. but then, im changed forever. :)

my hands are full, but so is my heart. ♥

wow. it's December already, and in exactly two weeks, Christmas is here again. :) hmm.. it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. :) im loving the weather too, especially at night. :) it's been awhile since i wrote here. i came home earlier than the usual from work today, so im here to write a few updates. :)

last last Saturday, i finally got my Starbucks planner! yey! :) it's simple, but i like it the way it is. :) the planner comes with a small booklet of coupons that you can use in certain months throughout the year. :)

work is okay, i think im getting used to it already. this is my 8th month at work. :) this morning, our accountant came and we gave her our payment for BIR. i can't state here how much we paid, but it's really so big. :( we tried to negotiate with them, but to no avail. it's okay to pay taxes and everything else if we see changes. but i don't see anything.. no improvements at all. im losing hope that this government will get better. even if a new president will replace the present one next year. it's sad how people do anything just for money. :( we're really living in the end times now and things just go from worse to worst. yesterday afternoon, there was a big fire near our work place. it's so big that even after two hours, the fire just won't die down. today, around lunchtime, a big transformer in front of our office exploded. we called the Meralco right away to come check what went wrong but they're too slow to take action. im afraid that this might lead to another fire. so now, im home. praying that nothing bad will happen.

hello. :) im still here. and. i miss writing. :) i hope i can write regularly again. please bear with me. i know i'll be random. as i always am. ;)

okay.. so where will i start?

i'll try to summarize my week. here goes..

last Sunday, i was assigned to play the piano during our Youth Meeting. and it was my first time. i played several times already, but im always using the keyboard. now, it's the real grand piano. i was scared to death, but also grateful because i know i don't deserve it. it's an honor to serve You. :) after church, we had quick lunch and headed to Manila Memorial in Cavite. surprisingly, there was no traffic at all and we were there in 45minutes. :) we stayed there and cleaned the place, put some fresh flowers, and replaced the old photo hanging for more than a decade. when i looked at my Angkong's face, i almost forgot how he looked like when he was still here with us. i can remember the days that i spent with him in the fifth floor of Makati Med, when nurses and doctors come in every hour to check on him.. i can remember the time when he got mad on me and my brother for fighting over a toy to a point that he let us kneel down.. i can remember the way he drinks his soup and the way he sets his hair. but im thinking.. how much do we remember? it made me realize again that life is so fleeting. anyway.. we stayed for a few hours, and when we were on our way out of the cemetery, we got caught in traffic and, believe it or not, we were inside for TWO and a half hours!!! we were so hungry and thirsty. and we can do nothing but pray. gladly, we made it home in an hour after we got out of the place.

Monday was a holiday so there's no work for me. :) i stayed home and did nothing! :) i loved it. sometimes, i get so caught up with everything i have to do and after finishing one thing, there's always next in my to-do list. it feels good to stop and just rest. :) that night, someone came and we just spent time together just talking. :)

Tuesday, it's back to reality again. back to work. so far, im enjoying my work and i've grown to love it. :) im more used to the phone calls, the orders, the different kinds of people you encounter each day. so far, so good. Grace joined me for dinner and told me about their trip to Cebu last week where they joined the Southern Conference. :) she also gave me yummy squid flakes and peanut kisses! :) joined Prayer Meeting after dinner. :)

Wednesday, still work. tutor after work. and had coffee with a dear friend. :) red cups are out that day at Starbucks! :) and it's here to stay until January 6, 2010. :) and as i always do every year, i start collecting my stickers again to get my Starbucks planner!! :)

it comes again in three lovely designs. one must accumulate a total of 17 stickers - 9 christmas beverage + 8 core beverages. :) they also displayed new designs of tumblers and mugs for sale, and decorated the place too. it's beginning to feel like Christmas again. :)

Thursday, is such a gloomy day. it was raining while im on my way to work. and i think i didn't saw the sun that day. just dark clouds and rain pouring from time to time. joined Bible Study and saw Candy again! - she also went to Cebu - *hello Candy! :) so hungry after church so cooked fried rice and ate before going to bed. :)

Friday. today. i can't believe it's already been a week. but i really love Fridays. :) it didn't rained today.. in fact, it's hot today. our weather is really weird. just when i thought that it will rain all weekend, the sun was up and shining again the moment i woke up. i picked up the groceries after work today, ate dinner, and rushed to church for a piano practice with Bro. Robert for our Sunday School worship. i went to visitation too with Pauline and Michelle. :) and.. now im here. trying to update my blog. =D i planned to go to Ace Water Spa with my brother tomorrow, but he's down with sorethroat and colds, so i guess it's cancelled. we're moving it next next week. :)

yesterday, i turned 22.

i saw it coming. but im scared of what the day will bring. of course, i won't celebrate it with D anymore so that's a BIG change for me. and honestly, it makes me sad and makes me wanna skip my birthday.

during Saturday, i went out with Grace and we had cellophane together at Jesi. :) we ate lunch at Tempura and Dustin followed us after finishing his work. :) we walked around looking for a nice bag but got nothing. i only bought myself a book - The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. a friend told me it's a good read. :) we had yummy Halo-Halo and Palabok at Razon's before coming home. :)

when i came home, our guard gave me a paperbag with a gift from Alda. :) i also saw a huge cabinet the moment i entered the door. it's the one i've been secretly dreaming of buying - becuase my clothes are all over our house, some in a small cabinet outside, a part in my brother's cabinet, and some in Hannah's room. the cabinet is a gift from my Aunt. :) so now, i have my own place. hehe. :)

Sunday morning, im blessed that i was assigned to play the piano for our Sunday School and Youth fellowship. what a great way to serve the Lord. :) a lot of people texted me during midnight, some wrote on my Facebook wall, and others wished me a happy birthday at church. even some of my students. :) my small cousins each drew a card for me. :) i also received four cakes! WOW. and im eating one now while doing this entry. :)

my whole family had dinner together at Mann Hann San Juan. :) i love the place, it's so modern with high ceilings. :) it's just across Sandy's Pizza. the food is really good, but the company is so much better. :)

im so overwhelmed by the love and effort shown by everyone. i know that they knew that this day is hard for me.. but they all made it extra special. it's not the gifts that matter, but it's the thought that counts. :) i sure don't deserve all the love im receiving, and i have nothing but gratitude for all of you. yes you, who religously read my blog. haha. ;) i know im boring lately, i hope i can make it up to you. ;) at the end of the day, i know that i've got family and friends, and yes, God, and it's all that matters. :)

though i don't know what the year ahead holds for me, but i know that as long as God holds my hand, i can walk boldly, eyes wide open, and i'll finish this race. :)

just a few days ago, i made one of the most important decisions in my life. it was something that will change the rest of my future - a future i have thought i have believed in for years.

some things just aren't meant to be, no matter how long you've invested your heart and soul into it. life is full of gambles, and it is a journey. there are rewards, but only if you make choices.. only if you make decisions on how you want to live your life. should i stay even if there have been too many signs that i have willfully ignored? should i hold on even if i have doubts?

and so, i choose to let go. i choose, and i choose to gamble. because this is how i want to live my life. this is how i can live my life. i may have caused pain and hurt, but whichever way i look at it, i will still cause pain and hurt, because i can never be happy anymore.

i can say sorry.. say it is my fault. because i have been weak. and i mean it, because it is my fault. in moments of solitude, i might wonder about what could have been and shed some tears. yet i do not have regrets.

i have loved and been loved unconditionally.i have been happy.
